We offer camping on our expeditions. We also run canoe and walking expeditions over 2 days with an overnight camp along the way.
The brilliant thing about camping is that it can be done almost anywhere. You might choose to bring your group to Longtown and camp on the centre grounds. |

We can give you tents, sleeping bags and everything you need. You still get to go out on all the activities but camping gives it that sense of really ‘being outdoors’!
Who can go camping?
Absolutely anyone and everyone! A school group might choose to come and stay on-site for a week. They can go gorge walking or canoeing or any of our activities during the day. They can use our facilities to dry kit and get showered, eat in the centre dining room, and do an evening activity before retiring to the tents at bed time.
On the other hand groups could go out walking in the Brecon Beacons for a couple of days, carry their tents and things with them and camp wherever they like.
Where do we camp?
At Longtown Outdoor Education Centre we have a designated camping field. It’s near enough to the centre to use showers, toilets and washing facilities but far enough away that you won’t be disturbed and you’ll get the feeling or being in the outdoors.
Will I need any specialist equipment?
We have all equipment at the centre ready to be given out. We can give you a tent, sleeping bag and mat. We can also give you a stove and cooking equipment if you need that.
