Climbing and Abseiling offer the joys of success through determination, effort and courage on nearby crags or on our own purpose built climbing walls.
There is a responsibility too, to guide and encourage each other and look after the safety ropes, so that each person's individual triumph is a success for the whole group.
Walk tall away from it with photos and memories, and whatever the next challenge is, remember how much you can achieve with enough determination and support. |

Who can go climbing and abseiling?
Climbing is an excellent sport for anyone to try. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never climbed before or if you’ve done it a few times and would like to progress further in the sport, we can tailor the day to suit your needs.
If you’ve got a fear of heights or have any kind of worries about getting off the ground, don’t! The brilliant thing about climbing is that you can set your own goals and go as high as you like and then be lowered back down to the ground.
After you’ve climbed why not try abseiling from the top of the crag to the bottom. If you’ve got a fear of heights it can be a real challenge to lean back over the edge but when you’ve done it you will get an overwhelming sense of achievement!
Where do we climb?
We have 3 different climbing walls on-site at Longtown so you can start to learn the basic skills on the easier walls then progress to our 40ft climbing tower. In the South Wales area we have access to many crags. We could be climbing in an old quarry or on sea cliffs in the Gower.
Will I need any specialist equipment?
At Longtown we can provide you with all the gear you need to go out to a crag. We’ll give you a harness, a helmet and specialist climbing shoes that help you to grip the rock.
