Gold Duke of Edinburgh Residential Courses
There are spaces remaining for all the 2010 weeks. The courses meet the requirements of the Gold Award Residential Project in full and provide the opportunity to try Canoeing, Caving, Gorgewalking, High Ropes, Orienteering, Rock Climbing and much much more.
In August one of the weeks is a coastal challenge week on the Gower (see below). The coastal activities of Rock Climbing, Surf Kayaking and Coasteering may also be included in the programme.

You’ll be mixed in with other candidates from around the country and have the opportunity to take part in an exciting range of challenge activities including gorge walking, caving, canoeing and rock climbing.
No prior experience required. The price shown includes all accommodation, meals, activities and equipment.

Expedition Training
Expedition training and assessment programmes can be tailored to meet the needs of your group. Opportunities exist for Bronze, Silver and Gold award training on foot and by canoe/kayak.
The training will be delivered by an experienced ML(S) or BCU Level 2 / 3 Coach with an in-depth knowledge of the local area. More information on request.

The majority of the Longtown instructional staff hold the ML(S) award and can be booked to supervise practice expeditions and Wild Country Ventures.
Alternatively staff holding the BCU Level 2 / 3 Coach (Canoe) award can supervise practice river-based expeditions. |
Camping facilities for D of E award expedition groups are also available at a reduced rate at the centre. Details of other centres in the South Wales region offering similar facilities are also available on request
National Governing Body Awards
The National Governing Body award courses currently on offer are the MLTE Walking Group Leader award and BCU 1 - 3 star awards for Canoe and Kayak.
Experience based training courses are also on offer for caving and rock climbing.
